http://www.ejournal.iaingawi.ac.id/index.php/almabsut/article/view/2922

This article aims to analyze the role of Parebasan and Tengka as cultural mechanisms that normalize gender inequality in women’s education within Madurese society, particularly in Pragaan and Guluk-Guluk Districts, Sumenep Regency. The study is grounded in the persistent structural inequality in women’s access to education in communities with strong local cultural bonds, where traditional values often serve as social justification for restricting women’s roles and mobility. This research focuses on how cultural language and social norms function symbolically and morally in shaping collective perceptions of women’s education. This study employs a qualitative approach using participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation methods. The material objects of the research include Parebasan (Madurese cultural expressions), the Tengka system (social ethics), and women’s lived experiences related to educational decisions and early marriage practices. Data were collected from community leaders, parents, young women, and educational stakeholders in the research locations. The findings reveal that Parebasan operates as a symbolic instrument that internalizes patriarchal values through everyday cultural narratives, while Tengka functions as a social control mechanism based on morality, shame (malo), and family honor (ajhina). These cultural mechanisms simultaneously limit women’s social mobility, deprioritize girls’ education, and legitimize child marriage as a socially acceptable normative solution. This study demonstrates that gender inequality in education is reproduced subtly through cultural normalization, highlighting the importance of cultural transformation and reinterpretation of local values to promote gender-equitable educational access.

Keywords: Parebasan, Tengka, women’s education, gender inequality, Madurese culture.

Insiyah InsiyahFathurrosyid Fathurrosyid

This study aims to describe and analyze the role of digital collections managed by the IAIN Kediri Library in improving information literacy among students. In the era of information disruption, libraries function not only as repositories of physical books but also as providers of technology-based knowledge access. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through direct observation of the library's digital services, in-depth interviews with librarians, and the distribution of questionnaires to students as service users. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the IAIN Kediri Library's digital collections, which include e-books, e-journals, and institutional repositories, play a significant role as a catalyst for student learning independence. Flexible accessibility (accessible anytime and anywhere) has been shown to increase students' frequency in searching for scientific references. However, the effectiveness of this literacy improvement is also influenced by students' technical abilities in filtering information. It was found that the availability of digital collections encourages students to be more critical in evaluating data sources, although technical constraints such as network stability and understanding of search features remain minor obstacles. It can be concluded that the IAIN Kediri Library's digital collection plays a vital role in enriching students' knowledge and improving their literacy standards. Optimizing services through more intensive outreach and developing digital platform interfaces is recommended to maximize the collection's benefits to the academic community.
Moch.
This research aims to analyze the influence of the digital economy on consumption patterns and investment behavior in Ponorogo Regency. The study was conducted with a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative data collection through surveys with qualitative insights from interviews and secondary sources. The results show that the adoption of digital payment systems such as QRIS and mobile wallets has significantly increased, reflecting a shift in consumer behavior toward more practical and efficient transactions. Moreover, digital platforms have encouraged investment diversification, with younger generations showing interest in online investment instruments such as mutual funds, stocks, and even cryptocurrencies, while older groups still prefer conventional savings and gold. These findings highlight that the digital economy has reshaped local economic behavior, creating both opportunities and challenges in improving financial literacy, inclusivity, and regional policy support.

Keywords: Digital Economy, Consumption Patterns, Investment, Ponorogo
Moh Ulil Absor
